The Council has agreed a general approach on the proposal establishing a uniform legal framework for the use of electronic freight transport information in all modes of transport.
"We welcome the outcome of the Council as an important step towards more effective and fair road transport operations" said UETR President Mr. Villaescusa.
With the new rules, public authorities will have to accept information made available electronically on certified platforms, when haulers them to provide information as proof of compliance with legislative requirements.
"This will address the lack of level playing field from authorities" added Villaescusa.
