Mission and organization
UETR was founded in 1998 and represents today more than 200.000 road transport undertakings in Europe (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) with a total capacity of 430.000 commercial vehicles.UETR's mission:
- To have a regular dialogue with EU institutions as well as other stakeholders, networks and sectoral organisations;
- To give members an effective chance to give their input into EU policy-making;
- To gather intelligence on current and future policies and legislation;
- To represent an effective hub for national associations to cooperate and engage in joint projects and activities
UETR takes the lead and chair the UEPME Transport Forum, a co-operation platform bringing together small and medium-sized enterprises from manufacturing and repair of road vehicles as well as road transport. The Forum aims to develop joint positions on all transport-related issues such as sustainable transport, organisation of the supply chain, road safety, infrastructure efficiency etc.
